Riding and Horsemanship Camps

Phoenix Rising offers day camp programs for ages 6 - 14 during school vacation weeks and summer. Our goal is to teach riding and horsemanship skills in a safe, supportive environment. Campers will have an experience they will long remember and parents will be thrilled with the growth in skill, self-confidence and responsibility their young riders demonstrate. Campers may bring their own horse or pony or they are matched to one of our excellent school horses or ponies. The number of campers is limited to 8 per session in order to provide individualized attention.

In addition to lessons, campers will learn to feed, bathe, groom and tack up their horse or pony, learn about their care and treatment and participate in games and projects related to horses. Campers will participate in a demonstration the last day of camp, friends and family invited! Our show camp is geared towards the rider with some experience. Campers will take a field trip to a rated show as well as plan and in ride in one of their own! We also offer a half day camp, geared to beginners 6 & 7 for whom a whole day may be too strenuous.
